Lyrics

I've Been Thinking (about getting older)

I’ve been thinking about getting older
In looks and style
Less makeup, meanings, coffee, food and drinks
Stop nurturing my network status, feeding it with comments, likes and links
And keeping up to date with what friends I’ve never met feel and think.

I’ve been thinking about leaving the city
Leaving it for good
Less people, noise, busses, shops and fashion
Stop taking in the downtown high speed that makes me walk too fast
And makes my pulse escalate out of stress, not passion

I’ve been thinking about these things
I’m telling them to you now
I’m here, I’m crying out for help, for you to come and show me how
to do something, or simply stop thinking.

I’ve been thinking about having another child
For a long time
Less is not always more
Sometimes it’s just too little
And it’s fair to call me greedy, I was never pretty near the core
But I’ll keep on begging it to stop cause will alone won’t work – I know for sure

I’ve been thinking about these things
I’m telling them to you now
I’m here, I’m crying out for help, for you to come and show me how
to do something about it

Cause if thinking if is all I do
well, then I am in trouble
It’s like freezing halfway out there on the tightrope
I’ll fall
And if I survive, then who knows if I’ll ever think a useful thought again at all
I’ve been thinking about these things
I’m telling them to you now
I’m here, I’m crying out for help, for you to come and show me how
to make a move or simply stop thinking
Simply stop thinking
