Passage From The Past

There is this passage coming from the past.
Distance walked. Resentful feet.
Many times. Back and forth.
So many, it has darkened my night visions.
From departure to departure.
No such thing as home. No chairs to sit on.
Nothing that would ease neither eye nor intuition.

Passage from the past
Passes me
Caught up with me at last
Passes me
Passage from the past
I am about to step into a vast land

Passage from the past
Passes me
Caught up with me at last
Passes me
Passage from the past
I look so little in this vast land

Now, in this passage there is this bridge.
Sidewalks none. Cars and children's feet.
Watch your back. Back and forth.
So close I'm waiting for a clash in my night visions.
And always the water wanting us from deep down.
It never said so, but it had this strong strumming undertow.
Quiet but not still. Easing the eye but stirring the intuition.

Passage from the past
Passes me
Caught up with me at last
Passes me
Passage from the past
I'm about to step into this vast land

Passage trom the past
Passes me
Looks back at me at last
As it passes me
Passage from the past
I've seen so little of this vast land

This passage holds no people with a face.
Bodies move. Move on repeat.
Childhood memories. Back and forth.
I knew them once and bet they'd never seen themselves in my night visions.
From arrival to arrival. No such thing as being on the way.
Just moving fast to get there.
And, sadly, that can't cure neither memory nor imagination.

Passage from the past
Passes me
Caught up with me at last
Passes me
Passage from the past
I'm stepping back into a vast land

Passage from the past
Passes me
Caught up with me at last
Passes me
Passage from the past
Why am I still little in this vast land

Thought I had grown out of this vast land
I've seen so little of this vast land
Why am I so little in this vast land.
